A series of drawings about young woman’s psychological state.
Gigi is the name of a distant aunt, a successful artist, the Gigi of Girafe – the title of a richly patterned Aubusson tapestry by Jean Lurçat – but above all she is Gilberte, the protagonist of a short story by Colette. Gigi is an adolescent girl educated in the basics of life, such as how to eat lobster the American way or how to tell a topaz from a daffodil diamond.
Can you hear me, Gilberte?*
